Terms of Service for Muraimai App

Effective Date: 22-03-2025

Muraimai is a to-do and note-taking application designed to help you organize tasks and notes easily. It is currently provided as a free, stand-alone app with a focus on user privacy and control. The app is free, stand-alone, and only uses optional cloud backups (Google Drive or iCloud).
By using Muraimai, you agree to abide by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the app. Using Murai in any way implies that you accept all the terms and conditions outlined here.

No Muraimai Account: You do not need to create a separate account to use Muraimai Download and use the app without sign-up.

Cloud Sign-In for Backups: If you choose to enable cloud backups:

You'll sign in with your Google or Apple account
This allows Muraimai to store your notes in your own Google Drive or iCloud Drive
We receive your name and email address, but this information is only stored locally and is never transmitted to a server or shared

No Password Storage:We do not collect, store, or access your account credentials. Authentication is handled by Google/Apple directly.

Google and Apple Terms Apply:Using backup features means you also agree to Google/Apple’s Terms and Privacy Policies.

Local Storage: Your tasks and notes are stored on your device by default.
Optional Google Drive:When enabled, data is stored in your own Google Drive or iCloud. We do not keep any copies on our servers.
Personal Data: Other than support emails and the locally stored name/email from sign-in, we do not collect, store, or transmit personal data.
User Control: You may manage or delete your notes, tasks, and backups at any time. Backups remain in your cloud storage until you remove them or they expire (e.g., 30 days).

Ownership: You retain full ownership of all content you create in Muraimai (“User Content”). These Terms do not grant Muraimai any ownership rights over your content.
Use of Content: Muraimai does not process or analyze your notes and tasks. We simply display your data to you in the app and facilitate optional backups. We do not share your data with any third parties, except that you store it on Google Drive or iCloud under your own account.
Responsibility: You are solely responsible for your User Content, including compliance with laws or third-party rights. If you stop using Muraimai, your notes remain on your device (if you keep the app installed) or in your Google Drive or iCloud (if you used backups) until you delete them
You’re responsible for the legality of your content.

When using Muraimai, you agree not to:

Use it for illegal or abusive activities.
Interfere with the Service or disrupt proper functioning (e.g., using bots or scripts in a way that degrades performance).
Reverse engineer or decompile the app to discover source code or create derivative works.
Gain unauthorized access to any part of the app or impersonate other users.
Violate intellectual property rights or post content you have no right to store or share.

We reserve the right to investigate violations and take appropriate action, including restricting access, if these Terms are breached

As-Is Service: Muraimai is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties or representations of any kind. Use the app at your own risk.
No Liability for Data Loss: Your data is stored on your device and/or in your Google Drive or iCloud. We are not liable for any loss of data, including any caused by Google Drive or iCloud outages, account suspensions, or errors.
Limitation of Damages: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Muraimai and its creators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app.
Disclaimer of Warranties: We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Updates and Changes: Muraimai may add, remove, or modify features at any time, with or without notice. We aim to improve the user experience but cannot guarantee no disruptions.
Potential Fees: While Muraimai is currently free, we reserve the right to introduce fees or premium features in the future. Any changes in pricing will be communicated, and continued use of the app after such changes signifies acceptance.
Acceptance: Your continued use of Muraimai after any modifications indicates your acceptance of those changes.

User Termination: You are free to stop using Muraimai at any time. If desired, delete the app and remove any backups from Google Drive or iCloud. Deleting the app and removing backups from Google Drive/iCloud is your responsibility.
Our Right to Terminate: We may terminate or suspend your access if we believe you have violated these Terms, misused the Service, or if we discontinue the app.
Survival of Terms: Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive (e.g., Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability) remain in effect after termination.

Jurisdiction: These Terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the jurisdiction in which Muraimai App is based, unless otherwise required by your local law.
Invalid Provisions: If any part of these Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining portions remain in full force and effect.

Muraimai is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

Policy Updates: We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice within the app or by other means.
User Acceptance: Continued use of Muraimai following changes indicates acceptance of the revised Terms. The “Effective Date” at the top will reflect the latest update.
